Daniel Smith – President of Diamond Head Home Inspections
Integrity, transparency and professionalism are the foundation of Daniel’s work and the company he leads.  Daniel’s background in operations, complex project management and exemplary customer service was built over years of professional experience in both Los Angeles and Honolulu.  Daniel is detail-focused and deeply passionate about helping his clients gain the insights they need to make smart real estate investments.

Originally born in Los Angeles, California, Daniel was active in athletics year-round throughout his childhood and teenage years.  He learned the definition of hard work and dedication along with the ability to work with people from all walks of life from his parents—officers in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  While attending Pitzer College, Member of the Claremont Colleges, Daniel met his wife, Christine Matsuda, a local girl from Kaimuki in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Daniel competes each season as an outrigger canoe paddler between beach days and soccer games with his two young sons.   He has studied and completed his certifications with InterNachi (interNACHI.org).  


Adam Lock – Vice President of Diamond Head Home Inspections
Passion for building personal relationships, dedication and loyalty are the keys to Adam’s approach to doing business at Diamond Head Home Inspections. Adam has an extensive background in customer service and operational management.

Adam hails from Lansing, Michigan where he learned the meaning of hard work and discipline from his first job in the 6th grade as a caddie.  His father, a foreman at auto body shop, imparted the tireless effort required to be successful in any industry.  His mother’s dedication to family is the blueprint that Adam lives by today.  He enjoys being active in outdoor activities, especially surfing.  If he’s not outdoors, you can find him supporting young chefs in Hawaii’s emerging culinary scene.  Adam is certified with InterNACHI, the leader in home inspection training and certification.


Robert Melton – Lead Inspector of Diamond Head Home Inspections
Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Robert has an extensive background in construction and detailed inspection protocols.  He has a highly attuned ability to identify concerns and find solutions for prospective buyers and real estate professionals during the home inspection process.  Crediting his southern charm and considerable experience in the customer service industry, Robert has regularly exceeded expectations of his clients, gaining widespread recognition.  Many who have worked with Robert acknowledge his passion for his craft and leadership skills. 

With his team-first attitude and ability mentor others, Robert has become the Lead Inspector for Diamond Head Home Inspections. Robert is certified with InterNACHI, the leading training and coaching network in the home inspection industry.


Sean Garvey - Founder of Diamond Head Home Inspections
Born in Phoenix, Arizona where he spent years working under the sun learning the tools of entrepreneurship from his family business.  He studied everything he could get his hands on, including construction, and ultimately he obtained his degree in Marketing from Arizona State University.  In 2005 he moved to Honolulu where his attention turned to service based businesses.  Excelling as a people person, Sean grew as a notable service professional, and with over 15 years of sales and service experience he became a business consultant focusing on the intricacies of excellent service, project management, and marketing.  As suggested by one of his entrepreneurial mentors, he began his Home Inspector apprenticeship with Cub's Home Inspection, in Arizona, in 2013 and additionally studied and completed his certifications with the American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT) and interNACHI.org.  Sean has also passed the National Home Inspection Exam.  He is an avid CrossFit athlete, triathlete, surfer, student, and educator, Sean knows that preparation and attention to detail are the difference between success and failure.

Mike Hall - Certified Home Inspector
Born and raised just outside of Annapolis, Maryland, Mike spent much of his childhood boating and crabbing on Chesapeake Bay. While growing up, he and his twin brother spent many hours working construction alongside their father, a master carpenter, gaining an appreciation for the art of craftsmanship. In 2000, he left the east coast to pursue a business degree at Hawaii Pacific University, making O'ahu home ever since. Following graduation, Mike worked in the hospitality industry, helping to open and mange some of the top restaurants in Honolulu. Dedicated and hardworking, he eagerly looks for challenges and experiences to expand his knowledge of the construction and real estate fields. Mike has passed all requirements and is a certified home inspector with InterNACHI.  Additionally, Mike has passed the National Home Inspector’s Examination and is certified through ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors).  In his free time Mike enjoys hiking, diving, and playing the occasional round of golf. 


Kealoha Mahone - Certified Home Inspector
Hard work, determination and team welfare are at the core of Kealoha's belief system.  Kealoha's background in team leadership, unit well fare and mission completion along with a strong desire to form meaningful and lasting relationships with clients and co-workers alike are what drive Kealoha forward.  He has an extensive background in operational management, client relations, and truss systems.

Born in Kealakekua on the Big Island of Hawai'i and raised mainly on Oahu, Kealoha has a deep connection with Hawaii and its people.  After joining the United States Marine Corps at seventeen, Kealoha served our country for eight years, being deployed on multiple tours to Iraq and Afghanistan.  Kealoha later attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and then on to Los Angeles to work in project management and consultation. Kealoha has found his way back home with his wife and two baby girls, where he enjoys teaching them how to swim and surf, and spending time with all of his extended ohana.  During his spare time, Kealoha enjoys exploring his musical background working with artists along with helping fellow veterans transition back into civilian life. He is certified with InterNACHI, the leader in home inspection training and certification.


Devon Broome - Certified Home Inspector
Born and raised in Kailua, Devon is familiar with Hawaiian style construction and has worked in the construction industry for 10+ years with extensive knowledge in carpentry, roofing, renovations, and repairs. He has devoted many hours and years of work to studying fine woodworking and finish work. His attention to detail when it comes to quality work has helped provide better customer service and help educate fellow team members when it comes to construction practices.

During his free time, he can be found in his shop working on a wide range of projects varying from custom furniture to jewelry boxes.  Having construction knowledge and a passion for woodworking gives Devon insight into the structural components that are tested during a home inspection and offers our clients a greater understanding of the mechanics of a home.  Lastly, he is certified with InterNACHI, the leader in home inspection training and certification.


Erik McMahon - Certified Home Inspector
Spending his entire life living between popular destinations in Southern California, Hawaii and Colorado, Erik developed a love for all things real estate and construction. With a background in construction and customer service he created the McMahon Group, LLC in 2007, an umbrella company for consulting, general contracting, and property management.  Erik was the lead foreman for Beacham Construction in La Jolla, CA for six years managing between 4-8 projects at a time.  He then moved to Colorado where he obtained his General Building Contractor’s Class (B) license where he started McMahon Construction.  He continued running his company managing dozens of projects at a time for 10 years before moving back to Hawaii.

Erik has studied and completed his certifications with InterNachi (interNACHI.org).  Living in Hawaii has allowed him to live the life of his dreams and to share his passion of construction with our current clients.


Norm Smith - Certified Home Inspector
Norm, a Californian, was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, just outside of Los Angeles.  After frequent visits to the islands since the early 1970’S, Norm and his wife, Jennifer move to Hawaii in 2016.  His love of the water and island life comes from many years of surfing and swimming.  He is a graduate of both Pasadena City College and the University of Redlands with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Public Management. Norm is a retired Captain from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and brings a wealth of knowledge to Diamond Head Home Inspections relating to both the nuances of inspections and management practices.  When he’s not inspecting homes, Norm enjoys swimming and golfing with friends and family.  Norm is certified with InterNACHI and is our lead inspector for all pools and spas.


Ryan Kamealoha - Certified Home Inspector
Ryan was born and raised on Oahu and is constantly striving to break the mold of the millennial stigma. He has been searching for opportunities to succeed ever since high school ended. After leaving home at the age of eighteen for California, Ryan quickly heard the islands calling him home.  After intense studying, focus, and determination, Ryan become one of the youngest certified home inspectors in the world at the age of nineteen.

He strongly believes that age does not define a man’s quest for knowledge nor their professionalism. His attention to detail and ability to build strong relationships has served him well, not only as an inspector, but also as the company’s marketing specialist. One day, Ryan would like to be able to pass his knowledge to the younger generation and help bring about a new age of knowledgeable home inspectors and business professionals. Ryan has completed his certifications through InterNACHI.    


James Jacobs - Certified Home Inspector
Hailing from Auburn CA, James spent his early years in Lake Tahoe snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and fishing.  James began his career in landscape construction at the age of sixteen, designing and building for clients in the Lake Tahoe community. While it was hard work, it was always rewarding to see the finished product.

Growing up in a family with a love for the kitchen, James enrolled in culinary school and obtained a degree in culinary arts. Having extensive experience in customer service and hospitality, he found a passion for the service industry.  Spending years in construction, James pursued a career with Diamond Head Home Inspections, where his background has been an asset for the company.  James holds certifications through InterNACHI, and plans to further his education and career in the home inspection industry here in Hawaii. He is also our lead punch list and client services inspector for our luxury condominium projects.  In his free time, you can find James outdoors, in his element, always seeking new adventures.


Adam Lemire  - Inspector
Growing up on the west coast of the United States and Canada, Adam worked in several industries including construction.  He has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and is committed to advocating for the responsible management of our natural resources to allow for a sustainable and successful future for everyone. 

Being active in a variety of sports instilled in Adam a strong sense of teamwork, camaraderie, and work ethic. His competitive nature drove him to the National Championships for Men’s Division 1 Rugby. His drive and persistence helped him achieve his dreams in the sport while becoming a great ambassador for Rugby. You can find Adam every Saturday playing with the Hawaii Harlequins at Kapiolani Park. With his construction background, Adam is one of our lead inspectors for our newer construction projects inspecting luxury condominium buildings during the construction process.
