Daniel Smith – President of Diamond Head Home Inspections

With a strong background in operations, complex project management, and top-tier customer service, Daniel has honed his expertise through years of professional experience in both Los Angeles and Honolulu. His keen attention to detail and passion for helping clients make informed real estate decisions drive his commitment to excellence.

A Los Angeles native, Daniel was actively involved in sports throughout his childhood and teenage years, instilling in him the values of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. Growing up with parents who served as officers in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, he developed a deep appreciation for discipline and working with people from diverse backgrounds. Daniel has completed his certifications with InterNACHI (interNACHI.org), ensuring the highest standards in his field.

Robert Melton – Lead Inspector of Diamond Head Home Inspections

Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Robert has an extensive background in construction and detailed inspection protocols.  He has a highly attuned ability to identify concerns and find solutions for prospective buyers and real estate professionals during the home inspection process.  Crediting his southern charm and considerable experience in the customer service industry, Robert has regularly exceeded expectations of his clients, gaining widespread recognition.  Many who have worked with Robert acknowledge his passion for his craft and leadership skills. 

With his team-first attitude and ability mentor others, Robert has become the Lead Inspector for Diamond Head Home Inspections. Robert is certified with InterNACHI, the leading training and coaching network in the home inspection industry. He has also passed the National Home Inspector's Exam, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the profession and to Diamond Head Home Inspections. Sadly, our friend Bob passed away at the end of 2023 and we all miss him dearly. He made an incredible impact on all of our lives and was loved and appreciated by all who knew him. Clients loved his great smile, southern charm, and his thoroughness with his reports.

Jon Handy - Certified Master Inspector
Diamond Head Home Inspections is proud to welcome Certified Master Inspector®, Jon Handy to the team. With over 10 years of home inspection experience, Jon offers a wealth of knowledge and a keen attention to detail. Before moving back to Hawaii (again), Jon delivered thousands of high-quality home inspections to happy customers throughout Hawaii, Washington DC, Maryland, and Colorado. Jon possesses a broad knowledge of construction and real estate which allows him to deliver comprehensive inspections. Understanding how stressful the home-buying process can be, his top priority is to ensure that his clients have all the information they need to aide them in the process of purchasing and maintaining their home.

Prior to becoming a home inspector, Jon worked in construction/renovations and design. Having previously owned a home built in 1895, his wealth of knowledge on maintaining the integrity and charm of historic properties is extensive. This background, along with his patient and personable demeanor, enables him to provide a superior home inspection experience.

Johnathan Burgos - Home Inspector
John was born and raised in town and Aiea here on Oahu. In 2004, he began his career in the masonry industry, working for a masonry company until 2016. Over the years, he progressed from a general laborer to managing multiple projects. His experience in concrete and masonry spans a wide range of work, including sidewalks, slab-on-grade foundations, CMU, rock, stem, and keystone retaining walls. From 2018 to 2022, John served as a safety coordinator and quality control specialist, overseeing various construction projects and helping to establish standards for workmanship and project-specific processes. He is highly skilled in specialty concrete techniques such as staining, stamping, and pouring pervious concrete. Beyond his expertise in masonry, John has gained valuable experience in electrical and carpentry work through his involvement in residential construction projects. He is also proficient in operating most heavy equipment used on job sites. Outside of work, John enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, and surfing, as well as watching his son play soccer.

Charvis Bush Jr. - Home Inspector
Charvis, a Hawaii native, is an InterNACHI-certified home inspector who takes great pride in his work. Dedicated and detail-oriented, he always goes the extra mile to ensure the best service for our clients.

Mike Fiorenza - Home Inspector
Mike brings a practical, safety-first approach to home inspections, shaped by his years in the fire service and hands-on construction work. Firefighting taught him how buildings are put together, how they fail, and how much can ride on catching a detail most people walk right past. Working alongside a general contractor gave him direct experience with framing, roofing, remodeling, and finishes — so he knows what solid work looks like and where shortcuts tend to hide. What he enjoys most is helping clients truly understand the home they’re considering, not just handing over a report. He’s thorough on site and clear about what he finds, start to finish. Outside of work, Mike is usually in the ocean, on a trail, or in the kitchen, and always up for exploring a new corner of the island.
